What customers say?

“ This is a double review, first of the Cafe' which was quite nice, excellent coffee and pastries (I had the cinnamon) for this family business. But more incredible was the cultural and culinary presentation given by the owner to a tour at the vintage meeting hall where we were given indigenous foods and many kinds for sampling. I have never heard of shrimp roe until this sampling which was sweet and delicious. All of the tastes were unique, whale blubber and hide, roast mutton, char roe on cracker, and holiday pastries served with bread and beer. We also learned of their history and saw many items passed down through the generations. The presentation was lovely and heartfelt. Atmosphere in this local was almost magical. Many thanks to wife and husband for bringing this enlightenment. ”

“ Opened at 11 for lunch which was earlier than most of the places. I had chicken nachos and they were good. They and the other businesses did their best to accommodate a cruise ship coming into Port. I'm guessing the cruise ship had at many people on it as the entire town has. ”

“ So, I didn't actually enter the Cafe and Icebar, but I did try traditional Greenlandic food as part of an excursion that was prepared by the proprietress and hosted at the katersertarfia. Normally the Cafe serves burgers and beer, but they make special meals for the visiting cruise ships as part of 'A Taste of Greenland' excursion. I have shown the feast below. They also brought in some Greenlandic beer from a 'nearby' brewhouse - nearby being I think 40 miles or so away. I really wanted to try whale blubber and I got Narwhal Skin on this tasting plus the authentic beers. ”

“ Really great coffee - flat white was delicious Tater tots were perfectly crisp. Highly recommend the garlic aioli and the kebab meat. ”

“ Cutest little café with great view for pictures from their terrace. Good coffee and in a large portion. One can buy wi-fi. ”

“ Do yourself a favour. Have the musk ox burger with tater tots and the chili mayo. You'll love it! ”

“ We visited the cafe bar while walking around the city. It's located next to the beach, they have tables both inside and outside. The prices were normal for Greenland - 40 DKK for a cup of very good coffee and 55 DKK for a local beer. It was very clean and tidy. They had board games for those who want to spend some time around. It's possible to pay by card and by cash. Really recommend the coffee - it was one of the best we took for the past few days in Greenland and Iceland. ”

“ I got to visit this wonderful cafe on a Greenlandic Food and Beer tour through Royal Caribbean. Normally, they serve pizza and burgers but, in our case, we got to try Greenlandic food: narwhal (extremely chewy), salted cod (very hard), prawns (found them to be soft bordering on mushy), lamb (good), fish roe (bland) and some very small pastries (good). The cafe was no than 15 minutes walking from the pier where they had to ferry/tender us in. The service was outstanding! The Greenlandic beer was pretty good. The Baja brew tasted like an ale. Our tour guide who works at the cafe was wonderful! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're visiting on a cruise ship . ”
